Membership Drive

Dear member/friend/supporter: As you are no doubt aware, we are in the midst of reviving the squash club and getting it back on its feet (see www.highlands-squash-club.com for all the details). you should also be aware that we have received grants from HCDC ($2000) and The Ontario Trillium Foundation ($15000) towards needed repairs. The new heating and cooling equipment has arrived and should be installed soon (weather co-operating of course)! Work is also underway to provide new viewing windows. As soon as heating systems are replaced, we can then start on refurbishing the courts themselves. So, you can see that things are really starting to come together and that there is light at the end of the tunnel! Therefore it is now time to start thinking about a membership drive and getting everyone back on the courts. The Squash Club Board of Directors has set the new fee schedule. Our membership year will run from April 1st to March 31st (same as our accounting fiscal year). Our initial (and comparatively very low cost) membership fee schedule is as follows: - single adult membership (unlimited play) - $200 per year - single student membership (unlimited play) - $100 per year - family – 2 adults and all children (unlimited play) - $400 per year - 10 day adult pass (to be used any 10 days in year) - $75 - 10 day student pass - $37.50 - guests / pay-as-you-play – adult - $10 per day - student - $5 per day - associate/supporting member (non-playing) - $50 per year To encourage members to join now (and assist with our renovation project), these amounts above will be reduced by 25% if you send in your membership application before April 1st. Members joining after April 1st will pay the above noted rates. That gives you up to 14 and ˝ months of membership by paying for only 9 months! What a deal! We are still very glad to accept the full amount (and any additional donations for that matter) if you can afford it. Remember that we are a non-profit organization run strictly by volunteers. All your monies will be re-invested in the Club’s future! Temporary membership cards will be accepted until April 1st for anyone who has paid the $50 temporary membership fee. After April 1st, only the new membership cards will be accepted. Stay tuned for an official grand re-opening and celebration as soon as renovations are mostly complete. Please complete the membership/waiver form found on the web-site and forward to Don Gage (treasurer) c/o Willow Beach Cottages – 1626 Wigamog Rd. R R 2 - Haliburton, ON - K0M 1S0. Your official membership card will be sent by return mail. Sincerely, Executive Committee HSCGlen Carter (President HSC) – 457-2862Gerry Moraal (VP HSC) Don Gage (Treasurer – HSC) - 457-1110 Jim Andrews (Secretary – HSC) Ray Issacs P.S.
